Nao Kanzaki is honest to a fault. Uncorrupted and virtuous, Nao is the perfect target for a large-scale scheme—the so-called Liar Game. Suddenly in possession of one hundred million yen, she is expected to steal the same amount from her assigned opponent—her former middle school teacher—or face crushing debt. Saneatsu resolves to beat the Emperor at their own game, making use of the hidden envelopes containing powers that can aid the players. With the help of his small group of friends, Saneatsu must avoid falling into the machinations of the other players and win this wicked game.

After narrowly escaping a deathtrap, a dazed Ning Yuan finds himself confined by a menacing gangster, He Zhiyang, alongside hysterical doctor, Su Jin. Their past link to the red garden on Roosevelt Island comes back to haunt them after mysterious transfer students Louise and Edgar seek out their friendship.
